Accounting Clerk - Student

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Operations, the incumbent provides accounting support for accounts receivable and accounts payable. The incumbent processes data from various accounting modules. In addition, the incumbent performs all other duties related to the accounting sector.

DUTIES

  • Perform the reconciliation of daily deposits
  • Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable for municipal budgets
  • Process data from various accounting modules
  • Support the team in the day-to-day activities of the accounting sector
  • Participate in carrying out all other related duties

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies in accounting or business administration
  • Must confirm return to studies in September 2026

Experience:

  • Acceptable level of experience in a field related to the work, customer service, or volunteer work

Skills:

  • Good understanding of accounting techniques
  • Knowledge of the principles governing accounting software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in French and English
  • Good knowledge of the Windows 365 environment and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and/or as part of a team, with limited supervision
  • Strong commitment to quality customer service
  • Demonstrates discretion and confidentiality
  • Good organizational skills, takes initiative, and has sound judgment

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Thirty-five (35) hours per week

COMPENSATION

  • In accordance with Policy A-29 – Hiring of Student Employees
