SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of the Urban Mobility Department, the position holder performs various tasks related to the planning, operation, and implementation of projects and initiatives associated with urban mobility and transportation.
DUTIES
- Supports various operations and initiatives of the Urban Mobility Department;
- Contributes to technical projects and analyses, including:
- Development of standards for mobility service infrastructure;
- Geometric and operational analysis of the public transit network using computer-aided design (CAD) software;
- Analysis of bus stop accessibility;
- Research and analysis related to the electrification of transportation in Dieppe;
- Contributes to the improvement of public transit services, including:
- Various analyses;
- Field inspections and data collection;
- Contributes to the development of mapping tools for public transit, active transportation, and micromobility;
- Prepares technical analyses, graphics, plans, notes, and reports;
- Processes and manipulates various data sources to populate dashboards and asset inventories for the different urban mobility sub-services;
- Participates in the completion of any other related tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering program (having completed the first year of a civil engineering, urban planning, or related program);
- Able to confirm a return to studies in September 2026.
Certification:
- Standard First Aid (provided by the City).
License:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
Experience:
- Acceptable level of experience in a field related to the work, in customer service, or as a volunteer.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in French and English;
- Good knowledge of the Windows 365 environment and the Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Knowledge of CAD and mapping/GIS software is an asset;
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and/or as part of a team, with minimal supervision;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Practical mindset and strong observational skills;
- Ability to work with precision instruments;
- Demonstrates initiative and sound judgment.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Thirty-five (35) hours per week.
COMPENSATION
- In accordance with Policy A-29 – Student Employment.
EMPLOYMENT DURATION
- Seventeen (17) weeks starting May 4, 2026.
